How to open a bank account in Egypt

Last years we have helped many of our clients to open a personal bank account in Hurghada, Egypt. In this post we will share our experience with you to let you know about how to open a bank account in Egypt.

What you need to open your account

1- Original passport including minimum 1 month residence visa

The residence visa will be given to you from the passport office in Hurghada, some of the banks allow you to open your account with 1 month visa.

2- Proof of income

Either  you are still working and getting you salary from your job or you are retired , the Egyptian bank will ask you for a proof of income with a bank statement for the last 3 month from you country bank .

3- Your home bills

Will be helpful to have to show the bank that you the bank the last 3 moth home bills ( Electricity, water bills )

4- Address in Egypt ( Purchase contract or Rental contract ) All banks will ask about Egyptian address

5- Deposit

As soon all documents are in place and the bank application is filled with the needed info , the bank customer service will give you your bank account number , then you will make your first deposit in your account ( amount will be 4000 L.E = 200 Euros )
